These two pictures were taken in rapid sequence, looking into Pluto's Cave, which is the main lava tube coming from Mount Shasta. (I used a Kodak C330 digital, I think it flashed.) Have you ever seen so many orbs in one photo? I could not see these with my naked eye, but some people do.
Take a look at a full-size detail. Shekina is seemingly surrounded by orbs at one moment, but the orbs seem to remain in place, leaving a silhouette where the was standing moments ago. Your explanation is as good as mine. Although I'm convinced they're intelligent by their apparent movements in response to people.
